Beyond the Souls Chapter 9 Homeless part 3

Ashen picks up her jar for money and looks in it. She gives him some of the money "Thanks!" he says. "We have enough Alan. Let's get back to Stan." Ashen says. Alan follows Ashen back across the street and sees Stan curled up shivering. "How's it going?" she asks. He pulls out two quarters from his jar "Not great." he says. "You?" he asks. Ashen pulls out the dollars and Stan gets up surprised "Holy Sh...! where did you get all that cash?!" Stan asks. "I found it..." Ashen says. "Come on tell me." Stan says. "There was a guy, with a guitar and...I play guitar, I mean...I made a, I made a few bucks..." Ashen says giving him the money "Oh well! That's something!" Stan says. "That's really something. Stay right here. I'm gonna get us some food." Stan runs off to the store. Ashen waits shivering. After a few mintues Ashen hears "Uhhh! Whatcha got there,  old timer?!" "Well lookie here. You win the lottery, lucky son of a b#$#?!" says four teen age kids. One of them is recording on a camcorder. "I don't want any trouble..." he says backing away. "Trouble?! That's disrespectful, old man. Do we LOOK like trouble?" one of the teens asks. "He's sayin' we look like trouble..." says a teen. "You filmin' this, Ed?" asks another teen. "Yeeeeah. I'm on it man." Ed says. "F#$$!" Ashen goes running over. She hears Stan get hit. "D'ya see that? How the A#$hole kinda just folded right up?" the  teen yells out. Ashen gets over there and sees a kid with a bat and another kid hitting Stan  two others are watching. Ashen's fist starts shaking "Back off...and you won't get hurt.." Ashen says. The teen with the baseball bat walks up to Ashen "Well, lookie here. Looks like the bum's got a girlfriend!" He pushes Ashen. She backs up a bit "Keep rolling Ed, let's demonstrate how we deal with skanky, lowlife, bi@#es.." the guy with the baseball bat goes to smack Ashen. Ashen smacks him in the neck knocking him the ground as he gasps for air. The two others start trying to punch and kick her. She blocks and uses them to hit each other just like she was taught back in military school. The base ball bat guy swings at her again. She grabs him and kicks in in the stomach and throws him on the ground. The other guy swings a broken bottle at her. She blocks it with her back and jacket and the other guy grabs her and the guy with the bottle pins her to wall facing the guy with the baseball bat. He swings at her and Ashen kicks the guy before the bat can hit her and he falls to the ground she stuggles to get free but the bat guy starts trying to choke her.  She leans her head towards the guy and knocks him in the nose. She manages to get one arm free but the other guy mangages to get a punch on the side of her head as she swings him around to punch him. The guy with the base ball bat comes at her again. She grabs the bat and swings the guy into the wall. Ashen now has the bat and just starts smacking guys if they get to close to her with it. After everyone is on the ground she turns towards the man recording "F#$#! The B#$ch is crazy!"  Ashen throws the bat down. "I'll see you later, b#%ch!" the bat guy says. "I'm outta here! The guys run off. Ashen rushes over to Stan. "How did you do that?" Stan asks "I...I learned how to fight in the army..." Ashen says panting. "Yeah but...But there was FOUR of them, 'gainst ONE of you..." Stan says. Ashen chuckles "Four A#$holes. They did NOT know how to fight." Ashen says picking up the bag of food. "Let's get outta here before they come back..."Ashen says helping Stan up and having him lean on her. "Alright." He says. They get home and Stan starts getting dinner ready. Ashen goes back out to the freeway and looks down at it."Alan are you there?" Ashen whispers. "Always my love." Alan says appearing next to her. Ashen blushes slightly. "Where did that come from? You never called me that before." Ashen says. "Well we have been together for twenty years now or so, so I was thinking I might as well start showing you how I feel more than just being a jerk." Alan says Ashen chuckles "That's sweet of you Alan."
